About Us

Our driving force: Preserving our natural world

We acquire natural areas of all kinds and protect them from exploitation. Whether meadows, forests, or peatlands—nature is always worth protecting.

In this way, we are steadily increasing the number of nature conservation areas in Germany—and are already securing the preservation of more than 1,500,000 trees.

Our goal: to become the largest institutional owner of nature conservation land in Germany.

My piece of forest. Our earth.

Our passion: Naturally natural

Many people don't just talk about nature conservation. We buy land. We reforest it. And we secure it permanently via a perpetual covenant.

Founded in 2020, we now protect approximately 749,000 m² of nature across more than 60 sites in Germany. Over 1,500,000 trees, permanently secured.

And best of all: we don’t just plant trees. We create genuine habitats—wildflower meadows for wild bees, reptile hibernacula for lizards, nesting boxes for birds, and much more.

What we are doing specifically

Aufforstung eines heimischen Mischwaldes

Reforestation Plant trees We are creating predominantly native mixed forests featuring a variety of tree species, carefully planned by our forestry team.

Dauerhaft geschützte Natur- und Waldfläche

Area protection Permanently secure land areas We acquire natural areas and permanently transfer them to the foundation's ownership. A perpetuity clause protects them from commercial use.

Natürlicher Lebensraum zur Förderung der Artenvielfalt

Biodiversity Actively promote biodiversity Wildflower meadows, bee trees, nesting boxes, and areas of deadwood create valuable habitats for animals and plants.

Kinder und Erwachsene lernen gemeinsam mehr über Naturschutz und Aufforstung

Environmental education Understanding nature together We offer programs on nature conservation, reforestation, and biodiversity for children, young people, and adults. A special focus is placed on the school forest.

What sets us apart

The foundation owns its land outright. We purchase actual land in Germany and assume permanent responsibility for it in our own name. Anyone can see where we are active and what is growing there.

As a non-profit foundation, we are subject to state supervision and are a member of the Association of German Foundations. Our work is transparent and subject to oversight. We prefer to showcase actual land, trees, and projects rather than promoting ourselves with grand climate pledges. That is our understanding of honest nature conservation.

Our Principles

Nature comes first

For us, the protection of nature takes precedence over all other interests.

Act independently

We act in a non-political and non-religious manner, and without commercial self-interest or lobbying.

Local Nature

Our sites are located in Germany—often close to where people live—and are accessible upon request.

Working together as a team

Supporters, donors, and sponsors are part of the team for us.

Sharing knowledge

Through tree trails and activities for school classes, we make nature understandable and tangible.

Our sites in Germany

Over 60 sites across Germany. On the map, you can see where we are planting and which sites are still available.

A notice: We strive to keep the map of our reforestation sites as up-to-date as possible. As planting projects and site allocations are subject to constant change, occasional discrepancies may occur.

2020

Establishment of the foundation

The PLANT-MY-TREE Foundation is being established to acquire, protect, and permanently preserve natural areas.
Today

Preserved more than 1,500,000 trees

New habitat for plants and animals has been created through the protection and afforestation of forest areas.

1.5 million+ trees Preserving habitats
2030

Natural areas throughout Europe

At least one natural area is to be protected in every European country. This includes forest areas as well as other valuable habitats, such as peatlands.
2035

Expand protected natural areas

At least 1,000 hectares of natural land are to be protected worldwide. This corresponds to more than 1,400 football fields where plants and animals find a permanently secure environment.
