Project Lüdenscheid
WHERE PAST AND FUTURE MEET - FOR THE PRESERVATION OF NATURE
Our largest and most extensive nature conservation project is being implemented on the 65-hectare site in the middle of Germany.
With a projected total volume of around EUR 3 million for the purchase, reforestation, creation of a nature trail and a training and information center, we have a clear goal in mind:
making nature conservation understandable and accessible -
for everyone!

Revitalize
Reforestation
We are planning to reforest a selected part of the area with 400,000 trees. These include oaks, beeches, chestnuts, hazelnuts, maples and various conifers. Always under the motto: 'biodiversity'.
Fauna
By setting up insect hotels, areas for bee colonies and nesting boxes, we aim to encourage the return and reproduction of insects and birds.
By planting edges and thickets, we create optimal habitats for a wide variety of animal species in the forest.
Protect
Existing forest
On an area of approx. 6 hectares, there are now beech and oak trees that are between 140 and 160 years old.
The height is approx. 30 meters with trunk circumferences of up to 200 cm.
These valuable stands are permanently protected from deforestation - for a healthy, stable and sustainable forest.
Wild meadow
Another highlight of this project is the approx. 2.5 hectare meadow on which we will create a wild meadow. In future, this will become a refuge for insects in particular.
Experience
Nature trail
The "PLANT-MY-TREE. Die Stiftung. nature trail" is something very special. It contains many of the important and rare tree species from Germany. It also includes experimental tree species such as the sequoia.
Covering an area of around 1 hectare, the trail will be laid out in such a way that it blends beautifully into the landscape and also gives people with disabilities the opportunity to walk it to the full.
Information and training center
An innovative information and training center is being built directly in the forest. The focus is on communicating the importance and preservation of nature and nature conservation in all its facets.
Starting with the basics for flora and fauna, regenerative energy sources through to innovative ideas for nature conservation in the future.
